Certification

Certification is the process by which an authorized official determines that a workforce member meets the mandatory education, training, and experience requirements for a certification level in an acquisition career field.

The process by which facility management provides written endorsement of the satisfactory achievement of qualification of a person for a position. 

Is the process by which contractor management endorses and documents, in writing, the satisfactory achievement of qualification by a person for a position designed for certification. Certification follows the completion of the qualification program for those positions identified as requiring certification. The notable differences between initial certification and qualification are: (a) requirements for an oral examination or board, and (b) certification requires official contractor management endorsement, outside of the individual's direct supervisor, of their qualification to ensure senior management involvement in the qualification of designated operations positions (i.e., operators and supervisors).

An indication by the appropriate authority that the deviations determined in the calibration do not exceed specified limits.
