Tunnel - Pedestrian

An underground passageway, dug through the surrounding soil/earth/rock and enclosed except for entrance and exit, commonly at each end, and used exclusively for pedestrian or bicycle traffic. It does not include vehicular tunnels that have sidewalks. A tunnel used by both vehicles and pedestrians should be counted in one of the vehicular tunnel categories. A similar tunnel between two buildings may be inventoried with one of the buildings.
