Appraisal

An appraisal is an Independent Oversight activity conducted by the Office of Enterprise Assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of line management performance and risk management or the adequacy of DOE policies and requirements.

Process by which NARA determines the value and the final disposition of Federal records, designating them either temporary or permanent. (36 CFR 1220.18).

The process under which employee performance is reviewed and evaluated.

A documented review of a Field Element, contractor, or facility transportation and/or packaging management discipline performed in accordance with written guidance and criteria to verify by examination and evaluation of objective evidence at the facility and/or operation that applicable elements of the program have been developed, documented, and effectively implemented in accordance with specific requirements, needs, and regulations.
