DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY DESIGNATION ORDER NO. 00-06.00A TO THE DEPUTY SECRETARY 1. DESIGNATION. Under the authority vested in me as Secretary of Energy you are hereby designated the "Secretarial Acquisition Executive" (SAE) for the National Nuclear Security Administration and to exercise authority, direction and control over the National Nuclear Security Administration's acquisition management system on Capital Asset projects exceeding $750 million based on a recommendation from the Under Secretary for Nuclear Security, and in consultation with the Under Secretary, the Under Secretary for Science and me. You are hereby designated the SAE and to exercise authority, direction and control over the Department's acquisition management for Capital Asset projects exceeding $750 million based on a recommendation from the Under Secretary, the Under Secretary for Science and in consultation with me. 2. RESCISSION. Designation Order No. 00-06.00 is hereby rescinded. 3. LIMITATION. 3.1 This designation covers all parts of the Department of Energy, except the Federal Regulatory Commission. 3.2 In exercising the designated authority in this Order, a designee shall be governed by the rules and regulations of DOE and the policies and procedures prescribed by the Secretary. 4. AUTHORITY TO REDESIGNATE. The SAE authority may not be further designated. 5. DURATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE. 5.1 All actions pursuant to any authority provided prior to this Order or pursuant to any authority granted by this Order taken prior to and in effect on the date of this Order are ratified and remain in forces as if taken under this Order, unless or until rescinded, amended, or superseded. 5.2 A copy of this Order shall be provided to the Office of Management. 5.3 This Order is effective ___ ·· _ _,_,,_' _l _____ _ E~ Secretary of Energy
