Repair Needs (RN)

The estimated cost to restore a real property asset’s component system failures noted during a condition assessment survey to a state substantially equivalent to the most recently configured capacity, efficiency, or capability. The “needs” originate from the real property asset, not necessarily management. Repair needs will always equal or exceed DM; the difference between the two depends on each noted deficiency’s optimum period and acceptability to management.
