Refers to any routine or tools intended to distribute applications, data, and configuration settings to mobile communication devices such as cell phones, Portable Electronic Devices, and Personal Digital Assistants. It takes multiple types of mobile software and hardware to address a full solution. The intent of MDM is to optimize the functionality and security of mobile communications network, while minimizing costs and downtime.
