Agency

An executive department or agency; a military department; the United States Postal Service; the Postal Rate Commission; the United States Senate; the United States House of Representatives; any court, court administrative office, or instrumentality in the judicial or legislative branches of the Government; or a Government corporation.

Any "Executive agency" as defined in Section 105 of Title 5, United States Code (U.S.C.), including the "military department," as defined in Section 102 of Title 5, U.S.C., and any other entity within the Executive Branch that comes into possession of classified information or has positions designated as sensitive.

An executive department, military department, Governmnent corporation, Government controlled corporation, or other establishment in the executive branch Government, or any independent regulatory agency, but does not include: (1.) The General Accounting Office; (2.) Federal Election Commission; (3.) The governments of the district of Columbia and the territories and possessions United States, and their various subdivisions; or (4.) Government-owned contractor-operated facilities, including laboratories engaged in national defense research and production activities.
