This is in response to Ingrid Kolb’s memorandum dated November 24, 2006,
regarding review of Directives.
Management’s directives that were deemed in need of review, the disposition and
the plan of action for the revisions. Also, attached is the certification statement.

DIRECTIVES CERTIFICATION STATEMENT
DOE O 435.1 Chg 1, Radioactive Waste Management and DOE M 435.1-1 Chg 1,
Radioactive Waste Management Manual have been reviewed by Environmental
Management and is deemed to be in compliance with related Departmental Directives,
Secretarial Delegation, organizational structure, budget guidelines, rules, regulations,
standards, OMB guidance, relevant memorandums of understanding and public laws.
In addition, this directive is not found to cause undo burden, i.e., cost impacts,
prescriptive, redundant, and excessive reporting requirements, on Departmental elements
and contractors.
I certify that this directive is accurate and continues to be relevant and appropriate for use
by the Department.
