DELEGATION OF APPROVAL AUTHORITY FOR
MAINTENANCE JJv.IPLEMENTA TION PLANS (MIP)
The purpose ofthis memorandum is to document delegation of approval authority for the MIP as
prescribed in DOE Order 433.1A, Maintenance Management Program for DOE Nuclear
Facilities. Over the past few years, Site Office Managers have been approving MIPs based on
fonnal and infonnal guidance from NN~A headquarters. While this is consistent with my
expectations, recent reviews ofNNSA Federal organizatiQns identified the lack of documented
delegation authority as being inconsistent with the language in the 2007 revision of DOE Order
433.1 A. Therefore, I delegate approval authority for MIPs to the addressed Site Office
Managers. It is my expectation that Site Office Managers ensure MIPs prioritize investments for
mission critical and mission dependent facilities.
