SUBJECT: CANCELLATION OF DIRECTIVE DOE 5482.1B, ENVIRONMENT, SAFETY AND HEALTH APPRAISAL PROGRAM , dated 9-23-86, is canceled, effective immediately. This is the result of an effort by the Office of Nuclear Safety Policy and Standards, Policy/Standards Process Improvement Team which has just completed work on a new directive, DOE G 414.1-1, IMPLEMENTATION GUIDE FOR USE WITH THE INDEPENDENT AND MANAGEMENT ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS OF DOE 5700.6C AND 10 CFR PART 830.120 QUALITY ASSURANCE, dated 10-11-96. DOE G 414.1-1 replaces the Order and provides non- mandatory guidance for satisfying requirements contained in DOE 5700.6C, QUALITY ASSURANCE, dated 8-21-91 and 10 CFR Part 830.120.
