DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY NATIONAL NUCLEAR SECURITY ADMINISTRATION DESIGNATION ORDER NO. 00-31.00 S5-DES-WECKERLE-2018 TO JOHN WECKERLE AS FOIA OFFICER, AUTHORIZING AND DENYING OFFICIAL, AND PRIVACY ACT OFFICER DESIGNATION. Under the authority vested in me under the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Act (50 U.S.C. 2402), I hereby designate John Weckerle as the FOIA Officer and an Authorizing and Denying Official for responsibilities provided in 10 _CFR Part I 004 and as Privacy Act Officer for responsibilities provided in IO CFR Part I 008. RECISSION. Previous designations of individuals to act as the FOIA Officer, Authorizing and Denying Official, and as Privacy Act Officer are hereby rescinded. LIMITATION. 3 .1 This designation covers all parts of NNSA. 3 .2 In exercising the designated authority in this Order, the designee is governed by the rules and regulations ofDOE/NNSA and the policies and procedures prescribed by the Secretary of Energy, Deputy Secretary of Energy, or the Under Secretary of Nuclear Security. 3 .3 Nothing in this designation precludes the Secretary from disapproving any Administration-specific policy or exercising any authority over designees whenever in the Secretary's judgement the exercise of that authority is necessary or appropriate to administer the functions vested in the Secretary. 3.4 The authorities designated herein shall only be exercised with regard to DOE and NNSA Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act responsibilities. 3.5 Any amendments to this designation shall be in consultation with the NNSA General Counsel. AUTHORITY TO REDESIGNATE. This designation may not be redesignated or delegated. Diane Cross-Out 5. DURATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE. 5.1 All actions by the designee pursuant to any authority provided prior to this Order or pursuant to any authority granted by this Order taken prior to and in effect on the date of this Order are ratified and remain in force as if taken under this Order, unless or until rescinded, amended or superseded. 5.2 A copy of this designation shall be provided to Business Services through the Policy Division, which manages the Designation of Authority system forNNSA. 5.3 This designation is effective immediately. 5.4 Dated this 1 tit day of September, 2018.
