DESIGNATION ORDER NO. 00-22.00B S1-DES-EA1-2021 TO
THE DIRECTOR, OFFICE OF ENTERPRISE ASSESSMENTS
1. DESIGNATION. Under the authority vested in me as Secretary of Energy, the Director of
the Office of Enterprise Assessments is hereby designated as the official responsible for
investigation and enforcement functions codified in Title 10 Code of Federal Regulations
(10 CFR) Parts 820, 824, 851, and 1017 pertaining to nuclear safety; classified
information security; worker safety and health; and unclassified controlled nuclear
information requirements, respectively.
2. RECISSION. DOE Designation Order 00-22.00A is hereby rescinded.
3. LIMITATION.
3.1 This designation covers all parts of DOE, except the Federal Energy Regulatory
Commission.
3.2 In exercising the designated authority in this Order, the designee shall be
governed by the rules and regulations of DOE, and the policies and procedures
prescribed by the Secretary of Energy or Deputy Secretary of Energy.
3.3 Nothing in this Order precludes the Secretary from exercising any of the
authority delegated by this Order.
3.4 Nothing in this Order shall be construed to supersede or otherwise interfere with
the authorities provided to the Administrator, National Nuclear Security
Administration (NNSA) by law or by delegation. Furthermore, nothing herein
constitutes authority to exercise authority, direction, or control of an employee
of NNSA or its contractors.
3.5 Any amendments to this Order shall be made in consultation with the
Department of Energy General Counsel.
4. AUTHORITY TO REDESIGNATE.
4.1 This designation may be redesignated or delegated as allowed by 10 CFR Parts
820, 824, 851, and 1017.
4.2 Copies of this designation, redesignations, and any subsequent redesignations
shall be provided to the Office of Management, which manages the Secretarial
Delegations of Authority system

5. DURATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
5.1 All actions by the designee pursuant to any authority provided prior to this Order
or pursuant to any authority granted by this Order taken prior to and in effect on
the date of this Order are ratified and remain in force as if taken under this
Order, unless or until rescinded, amended, or superseded.
5.2 This Designation Order is effective _01/19/21.
