ROBINSON DIRECTOR GRID DEPLOYMENT OFFICE SUBJECT: Delegation of Authority to the Under Secretary for Infrastructure and the Director, Grid Deployment Office, to implement Section 216(a) of the Federal Power Act (16 U.S.C. 824p(a)) Under the authority vested in me as Secretary of Energy and pursuant to section 642 of the Department of Energy Organization Act (Public Law 95-91, 42 U.S.C. 7252), I delegate to the Under Secretary for Infrastructure and the Director, Grid Deployment Office, the authority under Section 216(a) of the Federal Power Act (16 U.S.C. 824p(a)), as amended by the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (Public Law 109-58), as amended by section 40105 of the IIJA (Public Law 117-58), to execute all activities necessary to carry out a study of electric transmission capacity constraints and congestion and to designate national interest electric transmission corridors. Except as prohibited by law, regulation, or this memorandum, the Under Secretary for Infrastructure and the Director, Grid Deployment Office, may delegate this authority further, in whole or in part.
