Authority, dated September 7, 2006
The Administrator, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) has been
delegated the responsibility for authorizing " ... NNSA employees and contractor
employees to carry firearms and make arrests without warrant in accordance
with section 161K of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (42 U.S.C. 220
l(k))." (paragraph 1.4 of reference 1).
The Administrator of NNSA re-delegated this responsibility in his delegation of
Cognizant Security Authority of NNSA to the Chief, Defense Nuclear Security
(reference 2).

Based upon the above, I hereby re-delegate to you the authority to authorize
NNSA Federal employees and NNSA contractor employees under your
cognizance to carry firearms and make arrests without warrant in accordance
with section 161k of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, and Title 10
Code of Federal Regulations Part 1047, Limited Arrest Authority and Use of Force
By Protective Force Officers. Further delegation by you of this authority will be
limited to NNSA Federal employees.
All previous delegations and re-delegations of authority to carry firearms and
make arrests is hereby rescinded (reference 3). Copies of any further
delegations of this authority shall be provided to the Office of Defense Nuclear
Security.
