DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY DESIGNATION ORDER NO. CIO-DES-CISO-2021 TO GREG SISSON 1. DESIGNATION. Pursuant to Redelegation Order No. 00-001.07 to the Chief Information Officer, I designate Greg Sisson to serve as the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), as that title and its responsibilities are described in 44 U.S.C § 3554 (a) (3) (A), as added by section 2 of Public Law 113-283, “Federal Information Security Modernization Act of 2014”, and to have the authority to take the following actions: 1.1 Carry out the Chief Information Officer’s responsibilities under section 3554. 2. RESCISSION. Designation Order 00-28.00A is hereby rescinded. 3. LIMITATION. 3.1. This designation covers all parts of DOE, except the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. 3.2 In exercising the designated authority in this Order, the designee shall be governed by the rules and regulations of the Department of Energy and the policies and procedures prescribed by the Secretary of Energy or Deputy Secretary of Energy. 3.3 Nothing in this Order shall be construed to supersede or otherwise interfere with the authorities provided to the Administrator, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) by law or by delegation. Furthermore, nothing herein constitutes authority to exercise authority, direction, or control of an employee of NNSA or its contractors. 4. AUTHORITY TO REDESIGNATE. This designation may not be redesignated and can only be redelegated by the CIO. 5. DURATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE. 5.1 All actions by the designee pursuant to any authority delegated prior to this Order or pursuant to any authority delegated by this Order taken prior to and in effect on the date of this Order are ratified and remain in force as if taken under this Order, unless or until rescinded, amended, or superseded. 5.2 A copy of this Designation shall be provided to the Office of Management, which manages the Secretarial Delegations of Authority system. 5.3 This Order is effective _______________. ________________ Ann Dunkin Chief Information Officer August 16, 2021
