DELEGATION ORDER NO. 0204-107
TO THE ADMINISTRATOR, ALASKA POWER ADMINISTRATION
Pursuant to the authority vested in me as Secretary of Energy and by Sections 302(a) and 642 of
the Department of Energy Organization Act (Pub.L. 95-91) and Title III of the FY 1984 Energy
and Water Development Act (Pub.L. 98-50):
1. There is hereby delegated to the Administrator of the Alaska Power Administration (APA)
on a non-exclusive basis the authority to determine that an expenditure of funds
appropriated to the Alaska Power Administration for emergency purposes is required to
ensure continuity of service.
2. The Administrator of APA shall notify the Assistant Secretary for Conservation and
Renewable Energy (Assistant Secretary) promptly after making a determination under
paragraph 1 above. Within 30 days after completion of emergency repairs, the
Administrator shall report to the Assistant Secretary the justification for his action, the
nature of emergency repairs conducted, and the estimated expenditures for emergency
repairs.
3. The authority delegated to the Administrator by this Order may be redelegated in whole or
in part. In exercising the authority delegated by this Order, or as redelegated pursuant
thereto, the delegates shall be governed by the rules and regulations of the Department of
Energy and the policies and procedures prescribed by the Secretary or his delegates.
4. Nothing in this Order shall preclude the Secretary from exercising any of the authority so
delegated whenever in his judgment his exercise of such authority is necessary or
appropriate to administer the functions vested in him.
This Order is effective October 1, 1983.
