NATIONAL NUCLEAR SECURITY ADMINISTRATION
DELEGATION OF COGNIZANT SECURITY AUTHORITY
DELEGATION. Under the authority vested in me under Section 3212 of the National Nuclear Security
Administration (NNSA) Act (SO U.S.C. 2402) and the authorities and responsibilities of the Chief, Defense
Nuclear Security under Section 3232 of the NNSA Act (SO U.S.C. 2402), the security authorities delegated
by Order of the Secretary of Energy to the Under Secretary for Nuclear Security (sessions 1.1-1.S of DOE
Delegation Order No. 00-*003.00C) are hereby re-delegated to the Acting Chief, Defense Nuclear
Security, who, under the statutory authority for said Office, is the Cognizant Security Authority for
NNSA. These authorities may be further re-delegated to the extent allowable under law and Delegation.
1. LIMITATION.
1.1 In exercising the authority delegated herein, a delegate is governed by the applicable rules and
regulations of the Department of Energy and the policies and procedures of the Secretary.
1.2 Nothing in this delegation precludes the Secretary from disapproving any Administration
specific policy or exercising any of the authority delegated by this delegation whenever in the
Secretary's judgment the exercise of that authority is necessary or appropriate to administer the
functions vested in the Secretary.
1.3 The authorities delegated herein shall only be exercised with regard to NNSA employees,
contractors, or activities.
1.4 Any amendments to this delegation shall be in consultation with the NNSA General Counsel.
1.S Nothing in this Delegation precludes the Administrator from exercising any of the authority
delegated in this Delegation.
2. EFFECTIVE DATE.
This delegation is effective immediately.

DELEGATION OF TOP SECRET ORIGINAL CLASSIFICATION AUTHORITY
DELEGATION. Under the authority vested in me under Section 3212 of the National Nuclear Security
Administration (NNSA) Act (50 U.S.C. 2402), section 1.3(c) of Executive Order 13526, Classified National
Security Information, and with the approval of the Secretary of Energy, the Acting Chief, Defense
Nuclear Security, is hereby provided Top Secret Original Classification Authority. This also grants him
Secret and Confidential Original Classification Authority, as well as Derivative Classification Authority at
the Top Secret, Secret, and Confidential Levels. The authority contained in this paragraph may not be
re-delegated.
