Memorandum from NNSA Administrator to Chief, Defense Nuclear Security: Delegation of Authority, dated July I 0, 2008 4. Memorandum of Agreement on Security rutd Emergency Services at the Savrutnah River Site, dated July I, 2009 By Statute, the Chief, Defense Nuclear Security is responsible for the development and implementation of physical security programs for the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), including the protection, control, and accounting of materials, and serves as the Cognizant Security Authority for NNSA. l hereby delegate this authority for implementing physical security programs to you for facilities under your purview. At the Savannah River Site, this delegation will be consistent with the memora11dum of agreement, dated July I, 2009 (or follow-on), between the Savannah River Operations Office and the Savannah 2 River Site Office. You may re-delegate this authority to the Assistant Manager for Safeguards and Security or equivalent senior security manager at the Site Office or the NNSA Service Center. This authority may not be further re­ delegatcd. All previous delegations of Cognizant Security Authority for implementing security programs arc hereby rescinded. cc: T. D' Agostino, NA-1 J.
